Spectra Systems acquires ESI assets

Posted 6/6/12

PROVIDENCE – Spectra Systems Corp. has acquired gaming software security assets from ESI Integrity, the company announced Wednesday.

As of June 1, Spectra acquired all of the assets of ESI Integrity, including proprietary source codes, multi-year contracts and long-standing customer relationships.

Vancouver, Canada-based ESI holds 22 percent of the worldwide market share of the secure internal control systems security segment for gaming software, primarily with international lotteries.

ICS is a secure data platform, which audits online lotteries and other gaming systems. It provides tools for fraud detection, money laundering, match fixing and statistical analysis `

The ESI contracts that Spectra acquired include multi-year agreements with GTECH, Intralot and Scientific Games.

“The expansion of Spectra’s secure transactions products beyond physical banknotes to secure software products for gaming will allow us to utilize our blue-chip credentials with central banks to gain market share for the ICS and other software development throughout the gaming world,” Nabil Lawandy, CEO of Spectra Systems Corporation, said in prepared remarks.

According to the company, ESI’s software will play a large role in Spectra’s new Secure Transactions Group, which will be headed by industry veteran Scott Tillotson.
