St. Elizabeth Terrace opens for seniors

WARWICK – Construction of St. Elizabeth Terrace, a 34-unit affordable apartment building for low-income seniors, has been completed and the facility opened to its first residents Feb. 2, St. Elizabeth Community announced.

The $5.2 million project on Warwick Neck Avenue was funded by a grant form the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The apartment building, designed by Durkee Brown Viveiros & Werenfels Architects, was built by Calson Construction Corp. of Johnston and took 17 months to complete.

“We are grateful to all those involved in the project,” said Steven Horowitz, president and CEO of St. Elizabeth Community, “and especially grateful to the Board of Trustees of Saint Elizabeth Community and Cornerstone Adult Services for their vision and commitment to this project.”

Saint Elizabeth Terrace is fully rented with a waiting list and residents will be moving in through February and March.

Saint Elizabeth Community is a 501(c)(3) charity with 10 locations, including two nursing homes, an affordable assisted living facility, five adult day-care centers and two HUD apartment buildings.
