Starkweather program aiding tax breaks

EAST PROVIDENCE – Some markets in Rhode Island and Massachusetts are getting a $320,000 annual break in taxes through Starkweather Benefits Solutions relationship with the Flex System programs.
Starkweather Benefits Solutions is a division of Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc.
Flex System programs provide significant pretax savings to both employees and employers.
Regional Sales Director Tom Puglia presented Jim Moniz, Starkweather’s senior vice president with its Blue Circle award on Oct. 5.
The Blue Circle is a membership club that recognizes top brokers and consultants across the nation and provides these firms and their clients with higher service levels. Starkweather is the only benefits brokerage firm in the Rhode Island market to achieve the distinction.
“We’re always looking for avenues to help our clients achieve cost savings, Moniz said.
The combination usually results in higher employee participation and maximizes cost savings for both our clients and businesses and their employees, he said.
