PROVIDENCE – The state plan for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders is now online, posted at www.ltgov.state.ri.us/alz.
The plan is seen as laying the groundwork for implementation, which is expected to comprise a number of proposals for legislation to be taken up by the R.I. General Assembly in the fall, according to spokeswoman Maria Tocco for Lt. Gov. Elizabeth H. Roberts.
The plan includes a comprehensive list of recommendations in each of its six major sections: caregivers, access, legal, workforce, long-term care and care delivery and research.
The work group that the developed the plan, co-chaired by Roberts and Catherine Taylor, the director of the R.I. Division of Elderly Affairs, in collaboration with the Rhode Island chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, will be reconvening during the summer to address strategies moving forward.
