PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island has launched Apply RI, an online job-application website that allows applicants to track their state government job applications on the Web.
Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee announced the site’s launch at www.Apply.RI.gov this morning, calling it a way to “go green” since it reduces the use of paper in the hiring process.
“Improving technology across state government has been a priority for me and I am proud of the good work and collaboration by our state departments,” Chafee said, adding that the new site will streamline the hiring process for both applicants and managers.
ApplyRI is powered by Neogov’s cloud software for human resources in government and education, which allows job applicants to sign up for electronic notices of new openings, view openings, set up an account and apply for state jobs.
R.I. Director of Administration Richard A. Licht said the innovation will modernize how the state conducts its business.
The new website can be accessed at any time from any computer with Internet access. In addition, computer kiosks are available at four locations:

  • R.I. Department of Administration, One Capitol Hill, Third Floor, Providence.
  • R.I. Department of Environmental Management, 235 Promenade St., Room 350, Providence.
  • R.I. Department of Transportation, Two Capitol Hill, Room 200, Providence.
  • R.I. Executive Office of Health and Human Services, 55 Howard Ave., No. 55, Cranston.

Staff assistance is available weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at these locations.
