EASTON, Mass. – The Stonehill College Financial Management Association chapter received a Superior Chapter Award for the second consecutive year, the school announced Friday.
The award is the highest honor available to a student FMA chapter and honors chapters that have excelled in advancing the study of finance and related professional development activities. Stonehill is one of 23 colleges and universities worldwide to earn the designation, according to a release.
Assistant Professor of Business Administration Michael Mullen credited chapter President Danielle Rellas and Vice President Kevin McCann with earning the award.
“Their focus and leadership, organizing top notch presentations, corporate visits, professional development activities and producing the chapter’s newsletter, helped secure the recognition,” Mullen said in a release.
During the academic year, the Stonehill FMA chapter brought in speakers from State Street Bank, Fidelity Investments and high-growth tech company TechTarget, many of them alumni, to discuss their work experiences and job opportunities. Students also visited Waters Corp. in Milton, Mass., to learn about accounting procedures and acquisitions in a high tech field.
As part of the Superior Chapter designation, Stonehill was eligible to award a Stonehill Chapter Executive of the Year, an honor that went to alumnus and Waters Corp. Vice President of Worldwide Business Development and Investor Relations Eugene Cassis.
