Brown tops list locally for highest-paid bachelor’s degree grads

PROVIDENCE – Brown University tops the list regionally for four-year colleges and universities with the highest-paid bachelor’s degree graduates, according to PayScale Inc.
According to its 2015-2016 college salary report, which lists more than 1,000 schools, PayScale ranked SUNY Maritime College in New York first, with early-career salaries of $65,200 and mid-career salaries of $134,000. Harvey Mudd College, in Claremont, Calif., was second with salaries of $78,200 and $133,000.

Harvard University came in third, tying the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, with $61,400 for early-career graduates and $126,000 for mid-career graduates. The naval academy edged Harvard in the early-career category, however, at $78,200.

Ranked 35th on a list of more than 1,000 schools, Brown tied two other schools in the ranking, Lehigh University and Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Early-career graduates earn $57,100 a year at Brown, while mid-career graduates can make $108,000 a year.
For two-year colleges, the Community College of Rhode Island earned a rank of 39, with its early-career graduates earning $39,800 and mid-career salaries at $61,900.
The only local school not ranked is Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.
