PROVIDENCE – Payment-data firm Swipely will move from Fox Point to downtown Providence, the company has confirmed.

Public Relations Manager Elizabeth Ducoff said Swipely would be making an announcement “soon” about its move from 39 Pike St. in the city’s Fox Point neighborhood to a location downtown, but offered no further details about precisely where they would be going or when.

Swipely, which provides retail-payment processing, marketing and analytics, has grown rapidly in the past year and has outgrown its space in the former Fuller Iron Works Building.

Churchill & Banks, which owns the Fuller building, plans to expand it starting as early as next summer, but Vice President of Development Richard Baccari II said Swipely couldn’t wait. One of Swipely’s leases expires in January, he said.

Swipely, which was founded in 2009, has seen sales double in the past year and had hired 35 new employees by the end of September with plans to bring on an additional 15 new workers before the end of the year. The company now lists 72 employees.
