Taunton stormwater project to get $107K

BOSTON – Gov. Charlie Baker last week said a Taunton project is among nine statewide targeting water pollution from stormwater runoff and erosion that have been recommended for more than $1.28 million in federal grants.

“It is vitally important that we address the effects of polluted storm runoff on Massachusetts waterways,” said Baker in a release. “Through the administration of this grant program, we are able to work with the federal government to provide our local and regional partners the resources needed to improve water quality.”

The Taunton project would provide The Nature Conservancy with $107,000 to protect the local watershed. •
