THE TECH COLLECTIVE has announced its call for applications for the 2014 Bioscience Awards. This year, winners will be selected in four categories recognizing individuals, products and innovations, and companies.
PROVIDENCE – Tech Collective, an industry association for information technology and bioscience, has announced a call for applicants for its 2014 Rhode Island Bioscience Awards, the program’s second year following its launch in 2013.
This year, in addition to honoring individual bioscience professionals and entrepreneurs, Tech Collective has introduced new awards for breakthrough products or innovations at local startups or enterprises, as well as a community-leadership award for an individual, organization or company advancing the bioscience industry through advocacy, education and mentorship, workforce development or youth engagement.
Professionals in the medical device, research and development, drug and pharmaceutical, health care technology or other bioscience industry sectors may apply individually or nominate their peers and colleagues.
“From infectious disease treatments to medical device implants to homeland defense research, Rhode Island is impacting the biosciences on not only a local scale, but on a national and global one,” said Kathie Shields, executive director of Tech Collective. “The Rhode Island Bioscience Awards have been established to recognize these leaders who are influencing and fostering bioscience innovation, growth and success right here in Rhode Island.”
Nominations are due July 7 through the Tech Collective website, and applications must be submitted by July 14. This year’s winners will be recognized at the 2014 Rhode Island Bioscience Awards celebration on Thursday, August 28, at Kirkbrae Country Club.
