PROVIDENCE – Fort Worth, Texas-based Bell Helicopter, a subsidiary of Textron Inc., was ranked number one in product support by Aviation International News’ 2012 Product Support Survey, Textron announced Friday.

This marks the seventh consecutive year Bell Helicopter has placed first in the Survey.

“We are honored to receive this recognition and highly motivated to continue raising the bar in terms of supporting our customers,” Eric Cardinali, executive vice president of Customer Support and Services, said in prepared remarks. “We constantly seek new and innovative solutions to ensure mission success for our operators.”

AIN asked its readers, “who fly, maintain and operate business jets, business turboprops and helicopters” to rate the product support they have received over the last 12 months, according to the publication’s website.

The 2012 Product Support Survey of Aircraft Manufacturers divides aircraft into newer business jets, older business jets, newer turboprops, older turboprops and rotorcraft.

Bell Helicopter was the only helicopter with a 7-plus rating at 7.8 out of 10.

Textron subsidiary Cessna ranked second in the newer business jets category with an overall rating of 8.0, a drop of 1 percent from 2011’s 8.1 rating.

Cessna also ranked fourth on the older business jets list with an overall rating of 7.4, a drop of 3 percent from 2011’s 7.6 rating.
