Three Braver PC divisions merge with Marcum LLP

PROVIDENCE – Braver PC, a regional accounting firm with offices in Providence and Needham, Mass., merged its accounting, business strategies and valuation services divisions with national accounting and advisory firm Marcum LLP effective Jan. 1, the New York-based company announced Monday.

Two other Braver divisions – Braver Wealth Management LLC and Braver Technology Solutions LLC – were not included in the merger and will continue to operate as independent entities, according to Marcum spokeswoman Julie Gross Gelfand.

Fourteen Braver PC partners and more than 100 employees – all of those who worked within the three merged divisions – have joined Marcum. No staff reductions or relocations resulted from the merger, Gelfand said, and the employees who have joined Marcum will continue to work from their current offices in Providence and Needham.

Through the addition of Braver’s two offices, Marcum has expanded its presence in the New England region to include six locations. The other New England offices are located in Boston and Raynham, Mass., and Hartford and New Haven, Conn.

“Marcum’s national presence and extensive resources offer an opportunity for Braver to greatly expand the services we are able to offer our clients, while giving us the opportunity to integrate our experience into the service mix for Marcum clients,” said Dennis S. Pellecchia, formerly chairman, president and CEO of Braver PC. “Our integration with Marcum also provides significant opportunity for growth and professional development for our staff.”

Following the merger, Pellecchia assumed a new role as partner-in-charge of Marcum’s new Needham office. James D. Wilkinson, another former Braver partner, will head the Providence office, Gelfand said.

Braver Wealth Management LLC and Braver Technology Solutions LLC will continue to operate out of their respective offices in Needham and Taunton. There have been no changes in leadership or staff at either company following the merger of the other three Braver divisions, said Marcum spokeswoman Holly Intravia.
