Trinity Rep to honor Krasinski from ‘The Office’ with Pell Award

PROVIDENCE – Trinity Repertory Co. has added actor John Krasinski to its list of 2013 Pell Award recipients, Trinity officials announced Wednesday.
Krasinski will receive the award for Distinguished Achievement in the Arts during an awards ceremony on Monday, June 10, at Trinity Rep.
Krasinski, a Massachusetts native, is best known for his work on the NBC comedy “The Office” and for work on such films as “Something Borrowed” and “It’s Complicated.”
He graduated from Brown University as an honors playwright.
Trinity Rep previously announced it will honor actress Kate Burton with the 2013 Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts.
Pell awards also will be given to Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre Artistic Director Tony Estrella, noted art collector and philanthropist Dr. Joseph A. Chazan, and educator and Shakespeare in the City founder Martha Douglas-Osmundson.
A reception will follow the awards ceremony at the Providence Public Library.
The Pell awards honor the late Sen. Claiborne Pell and recognize artistic excellence in Rhode Island as well as in the New England region and nationally.
