DARTMOUTH – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth will inaugurate Chancellor Divina Grossman at around 2 p.m. on Thursday, topped off by student appreciation and engagement events that will continue through the weekend.

Grossman, who formerly served as vice president for engagement at Florida International University, was elected unanimously by the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees in April 2012 out of a cadre of six finalists, succeeding the now-retired 13-year Chancellor Jean F. MacCormack.

Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to attend the inauguration ceremony and all the surrounding “Celebration of Transformation” activities, which will take place in the Campus Center’s main auditorium from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

“Transforming Communities and Lives” activities commence on Friday, April 5 at 9 a.m., followed by track, baseball, softball and lacrosse matches against the Keene State Owls on Saturday, April 6 starting at 11 a.m.
