There is no room for error when your clients are charged with keeping people safe. This is what drives Purvis Systems Inc. to innovate at the highest level, giving their clients on the front lines of public and national safety the tools they need to do their jobs.

Purvis Systems in Middletown provides technology, and communications services and systems to public safety, U.S. defense agencies, public sector and federal organizations such as the U.S. Navy and the fire departments of Boston, New York City and Washington, D.C.

Purvis customizes voice and data communications, and network and field services for each client by taking on software and hardware development in house.

“Purvis maintains a laser-like focus on customer service and satisfaction. Our culture is centered on providing our employees with a positive work environment and giving them the tools and resources needed to deliver the most innovative and effective solutions for our customers,” said Michael Lepanto, Purvis Systems CEO and chairman.

The importance of innovation in the technology business is a given, but it’s not easy. At Purvis, the innovation stems from employees and the knowledge and understanding they have of customers’ needs and expectations. They realize the importance of getting things right for their clients – a fact not lost on clients who trust Purvis to provide the best solutions.

“Purvis Systems technologies and around-the-clock immediate technical response ensures that the Fire Department of New York is able to provide all the necessary lifesaving support to the citizens of the city,” said Robert L. Scott, director of the Bureau of Fiscal Services for the Fire Department of New York.

“For the last 40 years,” Lepanto said, “we have continually invested in employee-centric programs, and in research and development efforts to foster a culture in which employees are motivated to consistently think outside the box and develop new ideas that may help benefit the customers we serve.”

Since Purvis employees are the agents of innovation, they are rewarded accordingly. How this is accomplished is another example of the company’s innovative streak. Its company-paid Employee Stock Ownership Program is rare in the industry.

“To our knowledge, less than a quarter of 1 percent of all corporations in the United States offer ESOP. The ESOP is an important element of our employee-benefits package because it aligns with our culture of focusing on our employees and our customers,” Lepanto said.

“Every employee at Purvis has a vested interest in the success of our customers and in the growth of our organization. When we win, our employees win, and together we will continue to deliver innovative, effective solutions for our customers.” •
