Utilidata joins EV Everywhere Workplace Charging Challenge

PROVIDENCE – Utilidata Inc. has joined the U.S. Department of Energy’s EV Everywhere Workplace Charging Challenge.

As a result, the company’s Chapman Street office is one of more than 300 work sites across the country that offer on-site electric vehicle charging to employees and the public.

“As a company that’s working to modernize the electric grid, we’re proud to be part of this national initiative that leverages the benefits of electric power,” Scott E. DePasquale, chairman and CEO of Utilidata, said in a statement. “We’re constantly working to develop innovative energy solutions, whether that’s through the technology we provide to our utility customers or the technology we provide to our employees and neighboring community in support of their efforts to drive a cleaner, more efficient vehicle.”
This week also happens to be National Drive Electric Week, according to the Utilidata press release.

Citing the Department of Energy, Utilidata said there are more than 250,000 plug-in electric vehicles on American highways. The company said increasing charging availability at work is viewed as an essential step in encouraging more drivers to transition to electric vehicles.
