Verizon gives $10,000 to coalition

Verizon Wireless recently donated $10,000 to the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence of Warwick.
The grant from the Verizon Foundation will help the nonprofit expand both its statewide training program and the “Ten Men Project” to engage males in the prevention of domestic violence and increased awareness.
Verizon has made a commitment to the prevention of domestic violence by supporting survivors and increasing awareness of this issue through its HopeLine phone recycling program. HopeLine turns no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories into support for domestic violence victims and survivors.
Ten Men is the first statewide effort made up of pioneering, male leaders who have stepped forward and are committed to a world without domestic violence.
