WESTERLY – The Westerly Community Credit Union has donated $5,000 to the Greater Westerly Chamber Foundation in support of the Bring Back the Beach Misquamicut Beach Recovery Fund, according to a press release.

“We are honored to donate these funds to support our local community and local business owners who were affected by Hurricane Sandy,” said Steve White, president and CEO of Westerly Community Credit Union. “We hope this donation will help aid the recovery process required to make our beach community whole again.”

The “Bring Back the Beach” campaign, managed by The Greater Westerly Chamber Foundation, is based on the Jump Start small business recovery program created in 2010 to help businesses affected by the flood in that year. One hundred percent of the donations go directly to Misquamicut businesses that need financial support to resume operations.
