Walking in a winter wonderland

Slater Park becomes a winter wonderland during the next two weekends as the area’s carousel and boat house are transformed into a miniature Victorian-era village complete with seasonal displays. The event will feature visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, an 18-foot tall Frosty the Snowman and live entertainment from a variety of dance and musical groups, in addition to professional performers. Families can partake in hayrides, stroll among the park’s 425 trees and 20 Victorian houses or listen to Mrs. Claus read “The Night Before Christmas” each day at 4:30 p.m.
