Washington Trust to open Rumford branch

Washington Trust is slated to open a new branch next quarter in Rumford, which marks the bank’s second East Providence location.
The Rumford branch, lined up to open at 330 Newport Avenue, Rumford, will be Washington Trust’s 19th location in Rhode Island, according to a Dec. 3 press release.
“We love the city of East Providence and are excited to expand into the Rumford section and offer more convenience to local residents and businesses,” said Joseph MarcAurele, Washington Trust chairman and chief executive officer.
The new branch will offer various services and a 3,400 square-foot interior will have four teller stations including one that is handicap-accessible.
The bank will have a safety deposit service and a walk-up ATM. A planned drive-up banking lane along with a drive-up ATM lane are tailored specifically for the needs of small businesses customers who might need to make night deposits.
“A team of Washington Trust professionals will maintain the tradition of friendly, personal care and service that has made Washington Trust Rhode Island’s bank of choice for more than 214 years,” according to the release.
Founded in 1800, Washington Trust is headquartered in Rhode Island. It provides mortgage banking, commercial banking, small businesses banking, personal banking and wealth management. It has locations in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
“We’ve been helping Rhode Island homeowners, businesses and investors reach their financial goals for more than 214 years,” MarcAurele said.
