WESTERLY – Washington Trust will open its first branch in Johnston during the first quarter of 2014, according to a Monday press release from the bank.
The Johnston location will be the bank’s 19th branch office.
“Washington Trust has a 213-year history of serving Rhode Islanders and providing quality banking services,” said Washington Trust Chairman, President and CEO Joseph J. MarcAurele in a statement. “We are thrilled to offer our banking services to residents and businesses in the Johnston community.”
The bank’s 5,400-square-foot branch will be at 1383 Atwood Avenue, the former site of Ribs & Company. The branch will have four teller stations, three customer service areas and walk-up and drive-up ATMs.
The bank does not yet know how many new jobs the branch will create.
