PROVIDENCE – Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis is bringing business owners, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and government officials together during the eighth annual “We Mean Business” expo on Sept. 3.
“I have made it my personal and professional mission, as Secretary of State, to help entrepreneurs and small business owners turn their vision into a reality,” said Mollis in a release.
“Today, through our e-commerce tools, we have made it easier for existing and prospective businesses to interact with our office. Allowing business to flourish in a business-friendly environment will always be my goal, because it creates a better quality of life for all Rhode Island families.”
The free expo offers a series of workshops, as well as an opportunity for business owners to receive one-on-one guidance regarding licensing, financing, marketing and other business-related topics by government officials who are in charge of regulating business in Rhode Island.
The “Smart Start” room is also back by popular demand to assist new business owners. Accountants and attorneys will be standing by in the clinic to answer questions about filings, trademarks, tax documentation and federal identification numbers.
State agencies that will participate this year include the Department of Transportation, the Department of Labor and Training, and the Rhode Island Contractors Registration Board. Rhode Island Foundation president and CEO Neil D. Steinberg is also scheduled to speak at the “We Mean Business” kick-off event at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
The expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the R.I. Convention Center in Providence. To register, please click HERE.
