Webster creates student checking account

WATERBURY, Conn. – Webster Bank has created a student checking account available to any student with a valid college ID.

The account has no service charge, no minimum balance requirement, no limit on paper checks written and no direct deposit requirement.

“The Webster Student Checking Account is designed to meet the needs of college and graduate students with features and benefits that are tailored to convenience and to the student lifestyle,” said Michelle Crecca, spokesperson for the bank.

The student checking account can be set up online or at any Webster branch. The bank has more than 165 branches throughout southern New England and Westchester County, N.Y., including 24 in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Mass.
