WellOne receives patient service award from UnitedHealthcare

NORTH KINGSTOWN – For the second consecutive year, UnitedHealthcare recognized WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care for improving service to its Medicare Advantage members.

“Receiving this Patient Service Award for Excellence confirms WellOne’s commitment to providing quality health care to our patients,” Peter Bancroft, WellOne’s president and chief executive officer, said in the WellOne statement. “It is very gratifying to see the efforts of our providers and staff recognized at this level.”

UnitedHealthcare’s PATH program is intended to achieve improved outcomes for its Medicare Advantage members by encouraging greater use of preventive health care services. Through PATH, patients’ needs for various health screenings and follow up are identified for intervention. Providers meeting PATH’s clinical and quality goals for patient health outcomes are recognized annually with the PATH Excellence in Service Award, which relies on clinical results that measure how effectively medical practices have closed gaps in patient care.

“PATH does require extra steps, but the results make it worth it,” Andrea Marcotte, WellOne’s chief medical officer, said in the statement. “We get to know our Medicare Advantage patients better, and our relationships with them are stronger. Our primary care team does an amazing job of engaging patients and getting them the care that is needed at the right time.”
