WESTERLY – Westerly Community Credit Union has awarded two scholarships to recent high school graduates
Elias Gharios of Pawcatuck has been awarded the Westerly Community Credit Union Joseph N. Cugini Scholarship.
Elias is a graduate of Stonington High School and will be attending Sacred Heart University in the fall. The scholarship was awarded at the high school’s awards ceremony by Joe Limanni, of the WCCU board of directors.
Patrick Nix of Westerly was awarded the Westerly Community Credit Union Robert M. Bewlay Memorial Scholarship. Nix is a graduate of Westerly High School and will be attending Fairfield University in the fall. He was awarded the scholarship at the Westerly High School baccalaureate ceremony by WCCU board members Gerry Gleason and Steven Scales.
The scholarships commemorate the service of two former credit union employees, president, CEO and chairman of the board Joseph Cugini and vice president Robert M. Bewlay.
The Westerly Community Credit Union, board of directors and staff wish them both students congratulations and best of luck.
