It’s a blog. It’s bridesmaid services. It’s décor.

Amy Fields and Kristina Wendell in October launched Prep & Pearls LLC as a hybrid blog, products and services website. The daily blog preppearls.com is aimed at 20-30-something-year-old women. Posts feature wedding tips, do-it-yourself ideas, décor advice and more.

Wendell, a self-described “lover of all things crafty, sparkly and sweet,” provides “professional bridesmaid” services, which Fields explains is a person who helps the bride on her wedding day with some of the more menial chores.

Fields, with a background in interior design, provides décor services, helping with layout, do-it-yourself projects or even seating charts. Together, the duo are similar to wedding planners, but less structured than a traditional outlet. While they can help with vendors, the services are more about “having someone there the day of, that can be there to help.

“It’s about helping you prep for life by giving you pearls of wisdom,” Fields said. •
