LIVER WALK PROVIDENCE
The American Liver Foundation will holds its annual Liver Life Walk Providence at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, at Goddard Memorial State Park, 1095 Ives Road, Warwick. Participants will raise funds to support research grants, public education and advocacy in effort to increase awareness and progress in fighting liver disease. URI GOLF TOURNAMENT
The University of Rhode Island will host its third annual Harry Amaral Memorial Golf Tournament at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20, at Wannamoisett Country Club, 96 Hoyt Ave., Rumford. Participants will play 18 holes of golf to benefit The Amaral Scholarship Foundation. Cost: $200 per player, includes cart, lunch, auctions and dinner. Child & Family and the Newport Playhouse will host a benefit for Child & Family’s Elder Services Program at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, at the Newport Playhouse, 102 Connell Highway, Newport. The event will begin with a buffet dinner and will be followed by a performance of “Spreading It Around,” a light-hearted comedy about a wealthy widow in a retirement community who is tired of handing out money to her unappreciative children. CELEBRITY CRUSH WINE DINNER
Kent Hospital Foundation will host a Celebrity Crush Wine Dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, at The Dunes Club, 137 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner paired with wines by celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and golfer Ernie Els.
