NEW BEDFORD – The Women’s Fund at the Community Foundation, which works to promote educational attainment and economic security of women and girls in Southeastern Massachusetts, is accepting letters of inquiry for its 2013 Action Award grants.
The focus for the 2013 grants is on advancing social change through high-impact projects, collaborations, and innovative systems that engage girls.
In a release, the organization said it was particularly interested in funding evidence-based or informed projects that can develop leadership and advocacy skills that address giving girls a voice and learning to make positive choices in relation to higher education and career paths.
The grants are limited to $5,000 per organization and are made exclusively to nonprofits.
Letters of inquiry are due by Jan. 15, 2013. The fund will invite organizations to submit proposals by March 1, 2013. More information is available at womensfundsema.org.
The fund awarded more than $93,000 in grants in 2012.
