Woonsocket firm part of NASA partnership

WASHINGTON – NASA has secured partnerships with 13 U.S. companies, including TEAM Inc. of Woonsocket, to advance the agency’s goals for robotic and human exploration of the solar system by shepherding the development of critical space technologies.

Through the Utilizing Public-Private Partnerships to Advance Emerging Space Technology System Capabilities, NASA provides technical expertise and test facilities to aid industry partners in maturing space technologies.

TEAM Inc. was selected for development and characterization of a 3-D woven thermal protection system via arc-jet testing. The company has a 30,000-square-foot facility equipped to produce a wide range of woven textile products that are custom engineered to meet specific end-use requirements in aerospace, military and industrial markets, according to its website. •
