PROVIDENCE – The Wyndham Garden Providence, the city’s sole waterfront hotel, announced Friday it is in the stages of rebranding and will soon become the Hilton Garden Inn Providence Hotel.

Updates, which are projected to be completed in July, will draw inspiration from Providence’s waterfront and nautical history, according to a news release.

Michael Canini will oversee the brand transition and, once the renovations are complete, serve as general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Providence.

“We are thrilled to be joining the Hilton Garden Inn family and we believe our guests will appreciate the attention to amenities and design that accompanies this great brand. Our staff is truly energized and fully committed to providing an unparalleled level of customer service that showcases the unique offerings of the Hilton Garden Inn Providence while featuring our waterfront location and proximity to downtown Providence,” he said.

Uniquely, the Hilton Garden Inn Providence will be the first hotel in its class to feature a media room. This space will allow guests to relax and socialize around the centerpiece high-definition television and gaming system.

In addition, overlooking Providence Harbor and India Point Park will be an outdoor patio where guests can enjoy food and drink, which will be served from a full-service bar that features the hotel’s trademark firepit seating area.
