Yankee Magazine lists best in R.I. food

Yankee Magazine has released its 2016 Editor’s Choice Awards singling out the best places to dine in Rhode Island, and they range from all-you-can-eat fare at Wright’s Farm to the upscale Simpatico in Jamestown.

Here’s the list:

  • Best Breakfast: Kitchen, Providence
  • Best Lunch: Crazy Burger, Narragansett
  • Best Calamari: Simpatico, Jamestown
  • Best Ice Cream: Susanna’s Ice Cream at Sweet Berry Farm, Middletown
  • Best Asian Fusion: Den Den Café Asiana, Providence
  • Best Sweet Shop: Hauser Chocolatier, Westerly
  • Best To-Go Food: Sandy’s Fine Food Emporium, Westerly
  • Best Coffee Drinks: Vanuatu Coffee Roasters, Providence
  • Best Bargain: The Beef Barn, North Smithfield
  • Best Sports Bar: The Rathskeller, Charlestown
  • Best Comfort Food: Ogie’s Trailer Park, Providence
  • Best Breads: Daddy’s Bread, South Kingstown
  • Best Gastropub: Cook & Brown Public House, Providence
  • Best Rhode Island Clam Chowder: DiMare Restaurant, Bar & Seafood Marketplace, East Greenwich
  • Best Family-Style Chicken: Wright’s Farm restaurant, Burrillville

“It is a tremendous honor to be named to this prestigious list by the editors of Yankee,” Frank Galleshaw III, Wright’s Farm restaurant owner, said in a statement. “We are a family-owned and operated business and have put the last 44 years into making sure that we provide the best possible experience for our guests. When customers dine at Wright’s, they are treated like family and enjoy the same time-honored recipes that have made our restaurant a popular favorite since 1972.”
He noted that this is the fourth time that Wright’s has been named in the Best of New England issue, also winning in 2001, 2009 and 2014.
