Five-year-old Provdotnet LLC, which provides data-center solutions to Alex and Ani LLC, Atrion SMB and 7-Eleven, among others, is enjoying remarkable growth. By parlaying its expertise in data-center services, the company realized a nearly 300 percent increase in revenue from 2011 to 2013, with year-end 2013 revenue of $1.2 million. Provdotnet is continuing to see gains and expects sales of nearly $2 million in 2014, said Ron Sacks, CEO and managing partner. It’s a number that the firm is likely to see. A year ago, Sacks and company predicted 2013 revenue of between $1 million and $1.5 million.
Provdotnet provides a complement of colocation services, managed servers and connectivity services. The company, with five employees and some 30 clients, has its headquarters in a 2,500-square-foot office complex at 1155 Westminster St. in Providence. For security reasons, the precise locations of Provdotnet’s two data-center facilities are not disclosed, though Sacks said they are in the Federal Hill area.
Sacks attributes Provdotnet’s expansion to two factors, one external and one internal. The first factor is market dynamics, given the very strong market for technology cloud services and data services. Second, Sacks said, “We are the leading provider within 50 miles of Rhode Island of data services and cloud solutions. [Provdotnet is] the only [company] able to provide critical services for companies seeking secure data services with high-availability fiber optics and critical power.”
Looking to the future, Sacks anticipates that the company will double its revenue and number of clients in five years.
