The Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission announced today that the National Park Service has placed the American Brewing Company, a former brewery in the city’s Valley neighborhood, on the National Register of Historic Places. This register is the federal government’s official list of U.S. properties whose historical and architectural significance makes them worthy of preservation and even rehabilitation. more
The Providence Preservation Society will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year, with a symposium Nov. 3-5 and a seated dinner to follow at Skyline at Waterplace, the newly renovated facility at at Waterplace Park. The theme of the symposium is “Why Preserve?” and that event will be held at the Industrial Trust Building.
