Bicyclists came out in impressive numbers for this year’s Newport Folk Festival, including 1,120 on July 26 that accounted for approximately 10 percent of the day’s estimated 10,000 attendees. That’s according to nonprofit Bike Newport, which provided the bike parking. For all three festival days, a total of 2,695 bikes were parked at the festival. This was the third year Bike Newport provided parking for the festival. Last year, the highest daily bike-parking total for the event was 800. more
