Vittoria Pacifico-DeBenedictis, president of Bay View Academy, was selected as one of the 2015 Three Wise Women by the National Organization of Italian Women. Pacifico-DeBenedictis was born in Avellino, Italy, and she moved to Massachusetts when she was 7. She has had a longstanding career in Catholic education, beginning as a middle school teacher in South Boston. She soon moved from teaching to administration, where she held several leadership roles in Catholic schools around Massachusetts. Pacifico-DeBenedictis is involved with NEASC, serving as a chairperson, commission member and speaker. She holds a master’s degree in school administration from Emmanuel College and she is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she is pursuing her degree in leadership in urban education. Pacifico-DeBenedictis will be honored on Jan. 27, during the organization’s Rhode Island Epiphany Celebration. more
Ann Arnold, chief strategy officer at Buyers Intelligence Group and chief financial officer of H. Arnold Wood Turning Inc., was recently appointed chairwoman of the Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America’s board of directors. Arnold joined the board in 2006 and she has also served as first treasurer and vice chair. Arnold began her career at Deloitte & Touche, where she earned her CPA, but she soon returned to her family’s bridal jewelry factory, Lieberfarb. Arnold spent more than 20 years at Lieberfarb, serving as vice president and later CEO. more
