The annual AIDS Walk for Life takes place Saturday, Sept. 28, with walkers gathering at 9 a.m. on the State House lawn, and the step-off at 10 a.m.
Injured veterans ride in Providence on Sept. 9 in the UnitedHealthcare Ride 2 Recovery Minuteman Challenge, a seven-day, 425-mile bicycle ride from Lexington, Mass., to Philadelphia. More than 200 injured veterans and supporters participated in the ride. The nonprofit Ride 2 Recovery helps injured veterans heal through cycling. This was the fourth year UnitedHealthcare served as Ride 2 Recovery’s title sponsor.
