Providence-based Care Thread says it has a secure way for surgeons and nurses to coordinate patient care on their phones and through social media, instead of outdated pagers. “We are a secure social network, connecting the care team to each other, so they can … bring the patient into the conversation,” said company President Nick Adams, above left. The company has developed a mobile health-records app that can be used to immediately notify doctors when a patient is admitted or discharged.
