CENTRAL FALLS – The city is negotiating a contract with a real estate development company to convert The Landing into a commercial center. The property, the former American Supply Co. mill, will require site remediation for environmental contaminants.
Under the proposed lease, Central Falls-based Tai-O Group will redevelop the 10,000-square-foot structure and build a new 2,000-square-foot single-story building on the site. The city will cover remediation costs, according to Wilder Arboleda, the business, outreach and public relations coordinator for Central Falls.

The entire project is expected to reach $2 million, Arboleda said. Completion is expected in 2018.

“This is an important project that will bring life to this historic site,” said Mayor James A. Diossa, in a statement. “We are extremely excited to see activity via construction and ultimately to create a welcoming destination in Central Falls.”
