(MIDDLETOWN, RI) - Newport County’s oldest and largest social service agency, Child & Family Services, has announced changes to its Board of Directors.
Child & Family has been a center of community involvement since it was founded in 1866 as “The Home for Friendless Children.” A family focused, multi-service agency, Child and Family is the most comprehensive social service provider serving Newport County and beyond.
“Child and Family is a wonderful organization and I’m proud to help them in any way I can, “stated Donald McCall, Child and Family’s newly inducted Chairman of the Board. “Child and Family’s many programs provide services to every age group in our community, from infants to elders, and make our community a better place for all of us to live. At a time when our sense of community is sometimes lost, every day the hundreds of employees and volunteers of Child and Family work hard to restore that sense. It is critically important in these challenging times that we, as a community, continue to support those who are struggling. Through the generous support from our friends, neighbors, and corporate sponsors, Child and Family have provided that support for over 144 years. My goal as Chairman for the next two years is to continue and grow this tradition.”
