Gas prices dip in R.I., stay same in Mass.

PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices fell 1 cent this week in Rhode Island, and are holding steady in Massachusetts, AAA Northeast said Wednesday.
AAA Northeast’s survey of prices in Rhode Island found that self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.23 per gallon, which is 8 cents below the national average of $2.31. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 37 cents lower at $1.86.
Prices for unleaded regular in the Ocean State range from $2.09 to $2.36, with midgrade unleaded at $2.52; premium unleaded, $2.67; and diesel, $2.55.
In Massachusetts, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.16 per gallon, the same as last week. That price is 15 cents below the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was $1.80.
Prices for unleaded regular in the Bay State range from $2.02 to $2.39, with midgrade unleaded at $2.42; premium unleaded at $2.60; and diesel, $2.55.
