NEWPORT – Lila Delman Real Estate International has listed Sunnyside, a Gilded Age mansion, for $3.995 million, according to the agency’s president Melanie Delman.

The property on Old Beach Road was once owned by a founding member of the New York Yacht Club.

Sunnyside, or the Commodore William Edgar House, was built in 1885 in the Colonial Revival style of architecture. It was designed by McKim, Mead, & White, the firm responsible for the Rosecliff mansion, the Rhode Island Statehouse and other landmarks across New England and New York.

“In an improving market for luxury properties, this estate, with its sense of history, is a rare offering,” Delman said in a statement.

The exterior and interior details of the renovated mansion reflect mid-19th century opulence, with six bedrooms and five and a half baths in its main house, in addition to a separate four-bedroom guest house and pool.
