WARWICK – A new nonstop route from T.F. Green Airport to Cancun will start Fridays in July, the R.I. Airport Corp. said Tuesday.
Vacation Express is launching the new route, and will start the charter service July 7. It will continue through July 28.
The flights are operated by Swift Air LLC on Boeing 737-300 series aircraft. A complimentary non-alcoholic beverage and snack will be served on the flight. Each traveler also can bring one free carry-on bag.
Roundtrip flights start at $399, taxes included. Air also can be packaged with an all-inclusive resort starting at $999 in Cancun, with children under 12 staying free at some resorts, according to a news release.
Packages to Cancun can be booked online at VACATIONEXPRESS.com, by calling (800) 309-4717, or through a travel agent.
Jon Savage, chairman of the RIAC board, called the service “excellent news” for T.F. Green’s customers.
“In less than three weeks, we have announced seven new international routes from Green Airport. … I congratulate the RIAC team on yet another new service announcement, which is great for the state and great for the airport,” Savage said in a statement.
T.F. Green, the third-largest airport in New England, recently announced flights to Norway, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
