PPS to host ‘All the Colors Fit to Paint’ workshop April 8

PROVIDENCE – Providence Preservation Society next month will host two preservation professionals for a workshop on how to choose new paint colors for antique houses.

“All the Colors Fit to Paint” will be held on April 8, from 10 a.m. to noon. The location is Youth in Action, at 672 Broad St., at the corner of Broad and Marlborough.

The price is $30 for nonmembers and $20 for PPS members and residents of Elmwood, the West End and South Providence. Registration is available through PPS.

Preservation experts Harry Adler, of Adler’s Design Center & Hardware, and Clark Schoettle of the Providence Revolving Fund will discuss how to select paint colors, historic house styles and which colors complement houses.

After the presentation, attendees are invited to visit 49 Princeton Ave., which has a restoration in progress. Coffee and pastries will be served. Attendees will get a $10 coupon to Adler’s.
