Healthcentric Advisors Awarded $4.5M Federal Contract

Will serve as the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI) contractor to provide support to the PTN awardees in New England

PROVIDENCE, R.I.  (January 21, 2016) — The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently awarded $4.5 million to Healthcentric Advisors, to serve as the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI) contractor for New England.

The new funding, awarded under Healthcentric Advisors’ New England Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) five-year master contract, is for the performance of adjunct work to support the Practice Transformation Network (PTN) programs in the region – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Healthcentric Advisors, with support from its subcontractor Qualidigm, is tasked with collaborating and teaming with PTNs in performing practice assessments, supporting learning and diffusion activities and assisting in engaging practices and clinicians in TCPI/PTN goals. The overall goal is to drive practice transformation by implementing quality improvement strategies among primary care and specialty care practices.

Healthcentric Advisors will provide support for recruitment, assessment and coordination of practices engaged by the PTNs working in the six New England states. Additionally, Healthcentric Advisors will work directly with 343 practices across the six states, assisting with baseline and follow-up practice assessments.

  • Community Health Center Association of Connecticut (Connecticut)
  • Maine Quality Counts (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont)
  • Rhode Island Quality Institute (Rhode Island)
  • University of Massachusetts Medical School (Connecticut and Massachusetts)
  • VHA/UHC Alliance NewCo, Inc. (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island)

The New England QIN-QIO, administered by Healthcentric Advisors in partnership with Qualidigm, works across New England on strategic initiatives such as reducing health care associated infections, reducing readmissions and medication errors, working with nursing homes to improve care for residents, supporting clinical practices in using interoperable health information technology to coordinate care, promoting prevention activities, reducing cardiac disease and diabetes, reducing health care disparities and improving patient and family engagement.
