This summer a new initiate is being launched by freelance web designer and developer Andrew Clemente aimed at small businesses called the “Summer of Small Business”. The goal of the Summer of Small Business project is to work with 10 different businesses over the course of 10 weeks, starting June 1st. Each week a completely custom website will be built for each client at an incredibly affordable price in comparison to large design and development firms.

In today’s mobile-web based world, it is incredibly important for businesses to take advantage of the power of the web and social media to fully maximize their trading area. Too often businesses are still ignoring the importance of a web presence – whether due to budget constraints or their own beliefs that they simply do not need a website. In actuality, a website can be and often is the most powerful advertising tool a business can have – because once your site is online. there are very few (and in some cases virtually no) upkeep costs. People do not use phone books anymore to find businesses – they use Google, and their phones, and Four Square, and Twitter, and so on. Working with the right individual will allow you to take advantage of all of these aspects are create stronger brand awareness for your business.

But the Summer of Small Business project did not want to stop there. To make this initiative more enticing a contest element was added. At the end of the 10 week period one business will be selected entirely at random to receive a full refund for all services rendered. With 1 in 10 odds of receiving a custom built website, there really is no better and faster way to get your business online and into 2013. Even those businesses who have websites that may be severely out-of-date or inadequate should consider a major overhaul that positions their web presence to be cleaner and mobile-ready.

Local small business owner Rachel Manzoni of Rachel’s Basic Bites described her experience with Andrew of the Summer of Small Business project as “Andrew recently provided a service for me with web design and exceeded my expectations. He is meticulous, efficient, knowledgeable, and reliable. With his great vision in design and his technical skills, I recommend him and his company to all.”
