Cranston, R.I. – Rhode Island’s largest IPA, Rhode Island Primary Care Physicians Corporation (RIPCPC) and the Rhode Island Behavioral Health Network are excited about the progress that has been made towards integrating behavioral health within RIPCPC. This newly formed alliance will be hosting a RIPCPC behavioral health affiliate membership seminar on Wednesday, February 27, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 pm. This membership meeting will be held at the RIPCPC offices, 1150 New London Ave, Suite 20, Cranston, R.I.

The cornerstone for this collaboration will be the development of a Behavioral Health POD of providers.  These behavioral health providers will meet regularly with the IPA’s 140 primary care physicians to better coordinate care for their mutual patients. This integration will also allow RIPCPC’s physicians to smoothly facilitate direct referral to competent, capable, and available behavioral health professionals in a timely manner. RIPCPC’s Primary Care providers will be guaranteed that their patients will receive prompt behavioral health access as well as direct and secure bidirectional communication concerning the patient’s behavioral health care.

This integration will facilitate better behavioral health services to Rhode Islanders and allow for an improved standard of mental health care. The RIPCPC behavioral health members will foster a positive partnership with the IPA’s network of 140 primary care physicians.

The meeting is open to all interested behavioral health professionals who want to learn more about joining RIPCPC as an affiliate member. If you are interested in becoming part of this groundbreaking effort to enhance communication, improve access, while adding to the quality of your professional life, please contact RIPCPC at 401.654.4000.
