PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The competition for a coveted spot on the 2007 list of the Best Places to Work in Rhode Island has been formally launched. Nominations for these valuable awards are now being accepted online at www.bestplacestoworkri.com.

The Best Places to Work in Rhode Island program was created in 2006 and awarded annually. The 2007 Best Places competition is a public/private partnership among Best Companies Group, Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, Society of Human Resource Management, Cox Business Services and Providence Business News.

While making the list alone can be a prestigious honor, participating companies gain additional benefits. Each participant receives the results of both their employee statistical survey and their Workplace Practices Summary. The latter summary collects data on workplace philosophy, practices, systems, and demographics. Some general comparisons of a company’s data to the rest of the field are also included. Most past participants have agreed that the information they receive after the process is nearly as valuable as finding them selves on the final list.

Designed to recognize three types of businesses, the program ranks small-sized, medium-sized and large-sized companies. A company’s participation often leads to valuable and unique long term benefits for its marketing, corporate climate, and employee recruitment efforts.
