PROVIDENCE, RI – October 24, 2012 – The Roger Williams Park Zoo’s new website, launched earlier this year, has recently been awarded a W3 Award and a Davey Award, both for creative excellence on the web.

The new site, found at www.rwpzoo.org, was designed and built by Providence digital marketing firm Exnihilo, Inc. Previously, the Zoo had struggled to manage content on an outdated site that made it difficult to connect with their audiences. Exnihilo designed an entirely new, easy-to-manage site for the well-regarded Zoo that helps them reach not only children and families, but also important conservation science & education audiences.

In addition to these two new awards, The Zoo’s new site also garnered recognition earlier in 2012 from the Communicator Awards and the Summit International Awards.

“Our online presence is an enormous part of how our visitors and supporters interact with us today,” said Jan Mariani, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Roger Williams Park Zoo. “From registering online for education programs, to previewing attractions, to booking field trips and making donations, our website is vital to the Zoo experience. Our new site is not only beautiful, but it’s easier for us to keep up to date with news, events, multimedia and social media content.”

Roger Williams Park Zoo, one of the oldest in the nation, is Rhode Island’s number one outdoor family and tourist attraction, and is also a leader in conservation efforts undertaken by a zoo of its size. The Zoo has received numerous awards for environmental education, and conservation work done locally and around the world, caring for species that without human intervention would face certain extinction. Roger Williams Park Zoo is supported and managed by the Rhode Island Zoological Society and is owned by the City of Providence.

Based in Providence, RI, Exnihilo crafts custom digital marketing strategies that help organizations more successfully connect to internal and external audiences. From retail e-commerce websites to corporate portals, mission-critical business applications to web widgets, Exnihilo has created more than 700 successful solutions for clients like Textron, Major League Baseball, Imation, Dell, GTECH and Carbonite, among many more.
