WARWICK – Thundermist Health Center announced that Mary Rose has been named chief nursing officer, a new position at the health center, with medical offices in West Warwick, Woonsocket and South Kingstown. Most recently, she had worked at Thundermist of West Warwick as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Rose received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Austin Peay State in Tennessee, and her M.S. as a psychiatric nurse practitioner from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H. Rose’s past experience includes working as an adult psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at CenterPointe Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., and as a psychiatric nurse practitioner at the Center for Life Management in Derry, N.H.

“As our new Thundermist chief nursing officer, Mary is already proving to be an extraordinary resource to the Thundermist team,” Jeanne LaChance, Thundermist interim president and CEO, said in a statement. “Her leadership skills and experience in primary health care and integrated mental health services will be a tremendous asset to our patients and staff.”

Overseeing Thundermist’s nursing and medical assistant staff, Rose will also work with nursing directors and managers to promote staff education and training. In addition, Rose will develop policies and protocols that enable staff to maximize their effectiveness and oversee the organization’s seven psychiatric nurse practitioners who provide a wide range of mental health services, including psychopharmacology, to Thundermist patients.
