PROVIDENCE – An undeveloped parcel in the Interstate 195 Redevelopment District has been partially cleared and is being used as a staging site for construction of the final phase of South Street Landing.

The project is called River House, a pair of apartment buildings to house nursing and medical students attending class at or near South Street Landing. The project involves construction of two seven-story buildings with a total of 250 bedrooms.

Under an agreement with the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission, construction manager Shawmut Design and Construction, of Boston, will pay $15,000 to use Parcel 34 as a staging area. The term ends by July 1.
